Personal Journey

A Lifelong Passion for Genealogy and Heritage

Our mission at Mennonite Family History is to empower individuals to explore and connect with their ancestral roots. We strive to provide comprehensive research articles that illuminate family histories and local narratives, creating a vibrant tapestry of cultural heritage for our readers. Through our subscription-based platform, we aim to make accessible 30 years of in-depth articles and resources dedicated to genealogy and local history with new articles added monthly.

Founded in 1980 by editors J. Lemar and Lois Ann Mast, Mennonite Family History grew out of their deep love for genealogy and a wealth of knowledge in Anabaptist history. What began as a passion soon became the foundation for a larger vision—one that led to the creation of a print shop, a publishing service, a bookstore, and heritage tours across Europe.

They currently reside in Morgantown, Pennsylvania, near their family and on their ancestral homestead—a living testament to the heritage they preserve.

Every family has a story waiting to be told. Our job is to tell it.
